Public administration collects a number of data relevant not only for service delivery but also for companies, citizens and public control. Free access to information became key instrument of democracy and modern governance. However the current model (information on demand) is becoming obsolete and is changing to be proactive – information and data are published immediately after their collection and are made available to anybody. This model enables various new applications and electronic services and becomes a part of Government programs (e.g. Open Government Initiative in USA). The session will present this new approach, examples of applications and services and high-level discussion on introduction of this model to practice.
